PERSONAL COMMITMENTS REGARDING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE  --  There are many truths, principles and commands of God. But we must know them and be committed to believing them and obeying them if we are live rightly for God, if we are to be blessed by God and be a blessing to God. We cannot just naively wander through life, thinking everything will just turn out all right. We need to regularly be reminded of, and recommit ourselves to the truths and commands of God.

I delight to do Thy will, O God, Thy Law is in my heart.
Psalm 40:8

My heart is set on keeping your decrees, forever, to the very end.

2) God's Word  --  God's Word is the authority in my life. I will read it, study it, pray over it, believe it, meditate on it, obey it, and daily apply it to my life. I will not let fleshly and worldly thoughts replace God's truth and therefore control my mind and life. Psalm 19, Psalm 119, 1 John 2:14

4) Foundational Truths  --  The truths about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, man, the Word, salvation, the church, and our future are basic and foundational truths that will be the bedrock for the way in which I live my life. Ephesians 4:4-6

5) Purposes  --  I will live by the purposes that God has for my life, not by personal desires or ambitions. 8) Priorities  --  God is number one in my life. Placing Him first will bring Him most glory, and will affect what I do in all my other relationships and activities. Luke 10:38-42

9) Disciples  --  I will daily thank God for the people He has given to me, for the people He has placed in my life. I will pray for them, take initiative with them, encourage them, and keep in touch with them, believing that God can use me to build into their lives. John 17:6-19, Matthew 28:19-20.

10) Church  --  I thank God for the church He has placed me in. I will pray that she is holy, loving, Word based, joyful, thankful, united, humble and is preaching the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. I'll do what I can to protect her from coldness, discouragement, division and error. I will join with other believers in accomplishing the mission of the church. Matthew 16:18, Matthew 28:19-20.

I believe in God by believing His Word and promises; I trust Him in as I go through various trials; I believe that God is good and that He will bless and lead me for His purposes and glory; and I also express my faith by praying to God, by believing in Him to do the impossible, to do that which brings Him glory. Psalm 62:8, Hebrews 11:6, John 14:13.

13) Humility  --  I will be humble before God and others, knowing that humility is a means to grace, and is essential in my relationship with God and others. This humility will be seen as I am learning from God and others, and am serving God and others. James 4:10, Philippians 2:3-8

14)  Hope  --  Today I will place my hope, not in the things of the world, but in God and in the future that He has for me in heaven. 20) Grace  --  God's grace makes me what I am. God's grace is all the strength and power that I need to do what God wants me to do. LIFE VERSES -- TRUTHS, COMMANDS AND PROMISES -- Every day, each of us need to be encouraged and strengthened in the faith. We are living in a body of flesh, and the temptations can be strong. We live in a world that is very seductive and enticing. We are fighting in a spiritual war, against the devil, the enemy of God. We get spiritually weary and tired. Personally, for me, when I am discouraged, when I am spiritually tired, this particular tool, this list of verses, has been the single greatest source of encouragement in my life as a Christian. The verses are not listed in any order, but are somewhat randomized so that if you are spiritually tired or weak, if the battle has been fierce, than you can just read through a page or so, and trust that God and His Spirit will revive and encourage you.
