MINISTRIES OF HOPE BIBLE CHURCH
The church is the spiritual body of the Lord Jesus Christ; and she has a heavenly mission, an eternal mission to accomplish on this earth. And only the church can accomplish this mission. Jesus Christ is the head of this spiritual body, the church and the One who directs her purposes and work. These purposes are carried out through the Holy Spirit working in the members of the church. But this work can only be accomplished by the church as a whole. No one person can fulfill all of God's purposes in a particular church.
God Himself has specifically arranged the parts of the body just as He wants them to be. He has designed the church in such a way so that all the members of the church are needed, so that no one member is more important than another, and so that they work together as a team. Each individual member than needs to do his part in helping to accomplish the purposes of God, the work of God on earth.
Through the working of the Holy Spirit, every Christian is blessed with a spiritual gift or spiritual gift blend that is useful and necessary in helping to build up the church. In fact, an individual's primary purpose and effectiveness in a local church and in the kingdom of God is often seen in the use of his or her spiritual gift.
Spiritual gifts can be divided into two main categories, serving gifts and speaking gifts. The spiritual gifts are listed in various passages in the New Testament, particularly in Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4 and 1 Peter 4. The principle gifts are serving, leading, encouragement, prophecy, teaching, evangelism, mercy, helps, administration, wisdom, faith and giving.
The Christians in a church are to use their spiritual gift to minister or to serve others. Church ministry, both organized and spontaneous, is one of the main means by which the purposes of the church (exaltation, edification and evangelism) are carried out. It's important for the leadership to equip and encourage all the members to be using their gift and serving in ministry. As members minister and are ministered too, then the church will be a strong church, a growing church and one that is fulfilling God's purposes.
But how does a Christian know how and when to use his gift? As the Christian is actively involved in the church, as he is being loved and taught, then God's Spirit will give him both the desire and ability to serve and minister to others. This service can take place as a believer is participating in a particular ministry, or it can take place spontaneously. At Hope Bible Church God has led us to formally organize a number of ministries. Following are some of the ministries that are presently operating in the church.

As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,
let each exercise them accordingly...

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.
And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.

And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.
And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.
1 Corinthians 12:4-7
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also in Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has placed the members, each one of them in the body, just as He desired.
1 Corinthians 12:12-18

Children and Youth -- Ministry
God has given the church the task of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people in all the nations. As a local church, we want to do our part in reaching out to the lost in the Tampa area, and supporting those who are doing evangelistic work in other areas. This ministry oversees our church's evangelism efforts. This includes encouraging and training people to evangelize, organizing and implementing outreach, setting up evangelistic meetings, praying for the lost, and providing tracts and evangelistic tools. Luke 19:10, Romans 1:16-17, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Colossians 4:2-6,
