Work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Philippians 2:12-13

Our great and loving Father is at work in every Christian's life. But we are to respond to His work - we are to work with Him in becoming and doing all that He desires.

Every Christian then is to work out his salvation. Every Christian is to gird up his mind for action. But how are we to do that? Yes, we are to pray and read the Bible. Yes, we are to meditate on God's Word. Yes, we are to be involved in a good local church. Yes, we are to trust and obey.

But is there more than that? Yes and no. No, in that we just need to follow the Bible - for the Bible is sufficient. But yes in that it can be a very good thing to develop tools to help us to work out our salvation. You need to do all you can to stir up your heart, so that you can be encouraged, so that you can keep on persevering, so that you can be motivated to keep loving and serving the Lord.

Over the years I have developed a few tools that have been tremendously helpful to me in working out my salvation. I have passed these on to the members in our church. But I want to pass them on to you. As the Lord leads, use these Tools for Growth so that you can grow in the Lord and be pleasing to Him. And of course, feel free to pass them on to others.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
